The International Computer Driving License - ICDL- is a certificate, which demonstrates a person’s competence in computing knowledge and skills in accordance with international standards.

It consists of seven modules, each must be passed before the ECDL/ICDL certificate is awarded. The modules are:

  1. Basic Concepts of information technology
  2. Using the computer and managing files
  3. Word-processing
  4. Spreadsheets
  5. Database
  6. Presentation
  7. Information and Communication

With the coordination and full support of UCO and CDI in UCLA, ReDSOFT executed a project to arabize ICDL, with the following outcome:

  1. An Arabic ICDL syllabus, version 3.0
  2. An ICDL Arabic Manual Question Test Base
  3. ICDL paper-based training material in Arabic
  4. An interactive, self-paced ICDL computer-based courseware in Arabic and English
  5. An ICDL Arabic automated testing engine
  6. An English ICDL syllabus, version 4.0, to be published on CD's and the internet.
  7. An Arabized ICDL syllabus, version 4.0
