Preliminary
recommendations of the Conference
Sponsored by the
sublime of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jabir Al Sabah, Amir of
Kuwait, may God protect him holding the International Conference on ICTs in the
service of people with disabilities and learning difficulties in its State of Kuwait
during the period 19 to 21 May 2014 under the theme "Technology ... the
prospects and solutions " at the headquarters of the Arab Fund for
economic and Social Development.
Group of expertsparticipated
in the conference in the fields of information technology and communications
adapted to serve people with disabilities and learning difficulties at the
national level and the Arab world.
Through the conference
sessions and review worksheets, lectures and workshops and the subsequent
scientific debate has reached the conferees to the following recommendations:
1. Participants
recommended sending a telegram of thanks to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad
Al-Jabir Al Sabah, Amir of Kuwait, may God protect him on his high patronage to
this conference.
2. Rehabilitation and
training of teachers to enable them to provide the best educational services to
all categories of persons with disabilities and learning difficulties , and
coordination with other institutions and colleges and universities to improve the
level of scientific and graduation requirements on the ground to deal with
these groups .
3. Guiding themes and
concerns of future conferences in the paths more specifically to focus on the
trends and specific addresses or certain categories of people with disabilities
and learning difficulties different.
4. Activating the role
of various media and use it to increase the level of community awareness and
positive culture towards people with disabilities and learning difficulties and
focus on the contributions and successes and technological community to these
categories.
5. Attention to
psychological effects, social and cultural applications associated with the use
of ICT to people with disabilities and learning difficulties in order to
achieve full quality and safe use.
6. Continue to
implement and support the remaining stages of the Arab Network for disabilities
and learning difficulties (beam) and carried out by the regional center for the
development of educational software to be a gateway for integrated services and
a reference for service groups with disabilities and learning difficulties, and
all interested employees and specialists out.
7. Motivate government
institutions, commercial, financial, charity and civil society institutions to
provide financial support and the necessary budgets and allocated to encourage
and support attempts and successful experiences of individuals and entities
involved in the development of electronic applications and technological
equipment to serve people with disabilities and learning difficulties have.
8. Adoption of project
development of standards and the principles and mechanisms of the comprehensive
integration of all groups of people with disabilities and learning difficulties
in education and society so as to ensure full containment of this category as
citizens with rights and duties .
9. Communication with
international companies specialized in information and communication technology
and its applications and hosting experts interesting in developing innovative
solutions to serve people with disabilities and learning difficulties.
10. The regional
center for the development of educational software to work on the continuity of
this conference on a regular basis with the participation of all stakeholders
and relevant centers, the development of programs with courses, workshops and
meetings specialist in this area.
