Introduction The successful implementation of e-learning system depends on many important factors and aspects such as substantive, technical, administrative, human or cultural, where these factors complement with each other to form an integrated e-learning system. The e-learning system works effectively on developing the educational process and achieves the maximum benefit of information and communication technology in the educational field.
Therefore, this workshop focuses on several aspects that define the e-learning and its importance. It also explain the e-learning components, such as the educational portal, e-curricula, the smart schools, and smart classrooms.

Presenter Dr. Salah Al-Sharhan
Presenter Information Dr. Salah Al-Sharhan is an Associate Professor of Computer Science Department in the College of Arts and Science at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). He earned his Ph.D. in Systems Design Engineering with an emphasis on Computational Intelligence from Waterloo University in 2002 and 1999, respectively. Dr. Salah is also the Director and the founder of the eLearning center of excellence at GUST. In addition, he was a member of the “e-learning strategy in Kuwait” committee and the eLearning Program Manager (consisting of 10 different projects). He is also a consultant of the Ministry of Education in Kuwait which is a national project that introduces the eLearning to all the schools in Kuwait.
